Born out of a focus on the photographs, objects, and voices that belong to this community, sa Butega collects and preserves what might otherwise be lost. It’s not a museum behind glass: it’s a home that welcomes, cooks, and hosts.
We are guided by care and patience. The decision not to separate memory from daily life leads us to work with our hands—making bread, cheese, and desserts—alongside those who want to learn or simply watch.
The photographs in the archive, the stories of the people who lived here, and the days we share with those who stop by are all the same thing: a way of holding time together.
